M-Trans Gaz environmental policy, and environmental protection is a fundamental factor for a long-term, responsible and successful business strategy. In this context, the company implements and continuously improves the Environmental Management System in accordance with the ISO 14001:2015 standard, for all its Refinery activities.
M-Trans Gaz is committed to:
- for compliance with applicable Kazakhstan and CIS Euro Asia environmental legislation & regulations, concerning the operation & products of the Refinery as well as the adoption of approved (international) codes of practice and standards, where deemed necessary, for environmental management issues
- for the continuous effort to minimize the environmental impacts of its various operations and the continuous improvement of its environmental performance.
To achieve the above, the company sets environmental goals and objectives that are mainly related to:
- reducing the consumption of natural resources and energy, optimizing the consumption of water, steam & fuel and seeking to meet the needs of the Refinery with self-production of the required electricity
- the production of more environmentally friendly products, as far as this falls within its capabilities
- preventing environmental pollution through the use of environmentally friendly technology, where feasible
- the controlled management of air emissions and continuous monitoring of air quality
- the promotion of recycling, reuse as well as the effective management of the solid and liquid waste / by-products produced
- addressing the environmental impacts of emergency incidents by developing and implementing action plans such as the OIL SPILL CONTINGENCY PLAN
In addition, M-Trans Gaz :
- Communicates with both company staff and external stakeholders, including the local community, with the aim of creatively exchanging information and cultivating relationships of mutual trust.
- It self-assesses at regular intervals in order to monitor environmental performance and the achievement of goals and objectives related to the operation of the refinery.
The active participation of all company personnel is the determining factor in the successful implementation of the above policy.”
